There is a new player in the running world and he comes from Denmark … although we can talk about a dual nationality. In fact, the new brand MOVV also has a Belgian affinity.

How. The development of this new running shoe was done based on data from the Belgian runner. As a result, MOVV knows how to distinguish itself. They do not opt for fads and trends. They do opt for data-driven and experience-based development.

European manufacture

From now on, you can find a new brand of running shoes in all Runners’ Lab stores: MOVV. The brand originated in Scandinavia and aims to help runners run injury-free and, above all, keep them moving. The right running shoes play a crucial role in this.

Dates of Belgian runners

To fulfill their mission, MOVV knocked on Runners’ lab ‘s door. Since we have been pursuing the same goal for 45 years, we didn’t have to hesitate long to throw our years of experience and expertise into the mix.

Over the years, we at Runners’ lab collected a cartload of data through our proprietary Footscan® technology. Over 1,000,000 foot scans of the Belgian runner were factored into the development of the first MOVV model.

KSO (Kaiser Sport Orthopedics), a certitude in the Danish running world, also contributed valuable knowledge and experience.

“Form follows function” – MOVV

Science over trends

The result is a data-driven shoe that goes somewhat against trends.

  • Firmer midsole: While extremely soft midsoles are on the rise, MOVV opts for a firmer base. Analyses showed that this offers more stability and allows your muscles to function more naturally.
  • Flat forefoot: A second important part of the functional design at MOVV is the unique last, the shape of the shoe. The forefoot at MOVV is not curved, but flat. Analysis shows that this allows the foot to touch the ground more naturally and toes to spread naturally. Injuries would be redirected as a result.
  • Asymmetrical heel landing: The asymmetrical heel landing also stands out. Although this method proved its service in the past, you see it less in recent years. MOVV is fishing up this old wisdom and putting it into a more modern look by using new, higher-quality materials.
You determine what’s next

How many times have you been able to give direct input to a brand? Make improvements or suggestions? At MOVV, they welcome your experience – good or bad – with open arms. What’s more. They want nothing more than for you to share it with them.

There is an NFC chip in every MOVV product. NFC stands for a contactless communication method such as contactless payment. This technology allows you to give feedback directly to the product design team. Let them know what you like, what could be better or what you as a runner really still need.

Is that a supported version? Then we already have good news, because it is in the pipeline and will arrive at the end of the summer. Is it something else? If so, we’d love to hear about it.

“The directness does not detract from the cushioning. It is a pleasant shoe for quiet endurance runs.” – consultant Krijn

Tested by #teamrunnerslab

“The shoe is not as soft as most shoes. However, the directness does not detract from the cushioning. Nor do you feel that it is a stiff shoe. During (long) slow endurance runs, it feels very comfortable.”

“The grip on wet surfaces and in the woods is more than adequate. Orthotics also fit in it without any problems making it an ideal shoe for neutral runners and runners with orthotics.” – Krijn, advisor Paal-Beringen
